Smoque BBQ has been around for more than ten years. It’s the granddaddy of the modern barbecue scene in Chicago. It’s been featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and on multiple best of lists.
I first learned about it way back in 2009 from a book about the Chicago food scene called “The Food Lover’s Guide to Chicago.”A great book to get your hands on by the way. Even since then I have been a loyal devotee of their smoked brisket. Just eating the brisket by itself is a transcendent experience but add to that one of their barbecue sauces, tasty fries, coleslaw and cornbread and you have a religious experience.
After going for more than a decade I still love every single bite. Any while everything on the menu is great I always want the brisket. Do yourself a favor and at least try it. Trust me it’s worth it!
